Skye Jiang

Skye McLaurin-Jiang has been part of the Suzuki world since she was a young violin student in the Amarillo College Suzuki program, where she studied with Beverly De La Bretonne and Helen Gerald. That experience sparked a love of music that has stayed with her ever since — one she now gets to share with her two children and many nieces and nephews.

In her day job, Skye is an assistant professor teaching pre-clinical skills to medical students, with a focus on medical education and maternal and child health. She brings that same passion for community and nurturing growth to her belief in the Suzuki philosophy and her commitment to supporting musical opportunities for students and families in South Texas.
